Response to Land Registry

from (jpmorgan@onetel.net.uk)
Not at all sure why you choose to enquire locally through the Land Registry. The office that deals with your region may not be anywhere near you! For some reason, perhaps war damage, or economic, the details of properties are held somewhere else in the country. The London office brings all the regions together on its database (I think but check).

Locally you should visit your local studies library. The local papers for that date will list the asking prices of properties. Compare these with proviser.com for 'average'prices.

Good luck.

PS Don't trust an estate agent to tell you, as they will only provide inflated asking prices in the current market.
