VX 1000 NTSC -PAL Conversion Myth ?

Hi, I have been hearing about the possibility of converting my Sony VX-1000 from NTSC to PAL. Does anybody know any facts, or is this just a myth, a rumour heard from a friends friend ? I'd be greatful, moving to Europe killed my funding and I need to work with the camera. Thanks a lot up front G.
