Condensation preventing cassette eject on Sony VX1000

Hi,
my Sony VX1000 is displaying a condensation alert.
The instructions say to eject the cassette and leave
it open and powered up for one hour to dry out.
However, the cassette will not eject.
Has anyone experienced this and can let me know
how to overcome it.
