Windows XP and the firewire interface do not in and of themselves provide the full link to your camera -- it takes additional software. For example, Adobe Premiere (6.0) has an "Export [timeline] to Tape" option which controls the camcorder and writes your movie to the mini dv tape.(posted 8056 days ago)
