I think you misunderstand my posting Mr Tony Smeaton - Whoknows?(posted 8078 days ago)I don’t speak for this site, nor do I dictate any of its policies, it is however my understanding that everybody is welcome to express their views here. Including me, including you.
While I personally think that this site is intended as an open discussion platform for people adversely affected by the harsh repossession & shortfall policies operated the lenders, I perceive that other points of view such as yours certainly do have their place.
But I think that your email id label of “Whoknows” is a tad insensitive. Many of the people who seek help and advice have been intimidated and harassed by the lenders. They have been through stressful times, and are maybe currently facing all manner of adverse debt recovery tactics from the lenders. They really don’t need a know- it-all giving them a superior condescending always-in-the-right lender/debt collection agency viewpoint. What they do want is support and help, they need advice on what their rights are, what they can do, how they can get themselves out of the problems that are in front of them.
Above all they want to know if what the lenders and their agents are doing to them is right, and how they can stop it. They need to defend themselves, their families and their homes.
They don’t need somebody else in their face at this time.
So, I would suggest;
1, Consider changing your email label. 2, Change the tone of your emails, we are all on the same side here, and you are on which side exactly? 3, Try to offer more constructive type comments. The kind that support and help, not the kind that put people down. 4, Accept that other people are offering advice based on their own experiences, it may be wrong, it may even be nonsense, but if they truly believe that its good advice then simply say that you think different and state your viewpoint.
