Based on previous advice on this site I think you should also consider;

If you and a partner were liable for the mortgage then the letter should be from both of you.

You should require the bank to remove all adverse status statements at credit reference agencies concerning the mortgage.

The full and final settlement must apply to the bank, and any insurance company which held a MIG policy on the loan.
