Response to Heico NH-5 Fixer - undiluted shelf life and film/paper developers

If you see some solid sulfur precipitation in the unused fixer, that's
no good. If you see other white cristalline stuff, try to warm up to a
room temperature and agitate for a while. If they cleanly dissolve,
it's fine. If the unused fixer is clear solution, it's probably fine.
