Hmm. You should try the DOS version of MAME 35TG3B then. After you put in the "mame -record game" (without the quotes) try putting in "-joy 4button" for the PSX pad or "-joy 6button" for that sidewinder. In one of the MAME text files it has all the joypad listings that you can put in. Here i will list them all (personally i feel the standard, 4button, and 6button work best, but experiment). I use the -joy 4button by the way if you wanted to know.
