I was just trying to say more than "very nice". I like to say why I feel the way I do when I comment here, rather than just handing out a bouquet or a brickbat. You didn't give any idea as to the purpose of the photo, so I judged it as a piece of pure visual theatre.(posted 8317 days ago)There's an implied intimacy about the pose and lighting, but Ruth looks a litlle bit stiff and posed. as if someone had said, "look into that book while I take a picture of you" and took slightly too long about it. That stops me being drawn into the image in the way I suspect you wanted. I am too aware that this is a photograph.
