Response to Kodak Select B&W or T400CN

Kodak 'select' 400+ B&W film is more heavily masked than T400CN, and has a lot more contrast. It's very much engineered for colour minilab printing, and conventional printing onto real B&W paper won't be easy due to the heavy (and unnecesary) masking.
Select 400+ is aimed squarely at the amateur market, while T400CN is Kodaks professional chromogenic film.
