SARN info going back how many years?

Does a SARN get you information going back more than 6 years? My worry is that when my info comes in from Halifax it might not even contain anything about the repossession which took place in 1994, I haven't received anything from Halifax yet but when I do - how many years will it go back to and what do I do if I want information going back further than they are willing to give me.
