World o' the Stage

This is one of my favorite concert shots (of my concert shots, that is), Greg Brown taken from the wings at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. The Orpheum is huge, it's a long walk to center stage. This was done with a 135 f2.8. The show was a two night review of folk players- I imagined this shot the first night while Chris Smither was playing, seated, but was in the wrong position and couldn't cross the stage. Everyone else stood to play that night, but the next night the stagehands dragged out a chair for Greg Brown and I said "Yes!" and scuttled over to the wing... This is what I was talking about at the end of another concert thread - it's not a "traditional" music shot- it's kind of solemn, but when someone commented "man, that stage looks like a lonely place" I knew the job was done...
