I have to agree with the iMac DV SE, and if you can find it cheap DEFINITELY Final Cut Pro. You can find it for less than $600 on ebay, but make sure its an unregistered original copy. Final Cut Pro is a hundred times better than any other software based system I have ever seen. I would strongly warn against using EditDV its crap...
