On the print, the detail in the guy's jacket and girl's glove is much more visible (there's even some just-discernible detail in the middle person's jacket). Trying to preserve those details in the web image results in blacks that are only dark grey; I feel that preserving the overall contrast of the image benefits it more than maintaining the details in the near blacks.
