Response to Debt Councelling Service

from Tony Hayter (Tony@Hayter.com)
Hi Leslie,

As you have posted your question as a response to the offer by the Bennachie Foundation to provide a Debt Counselling Service to readers of this site I must assume that our question has something to do with that offer. Would I be assuming correctly?

If in fact you are a mortgage shortfall victim that has recently discovered this site then you've come to the right place because there is a great deal of information on the Data Protection Act on the site. Most contributors to his site have become quite knowledgeable on the content of the Act and it's purpose. So if you are in fact having trouble with serving a Subject Access Rights Request on a lender then there's always someone who's "been there and got the tee shirt" to help you.

If in fact you've posted your question for some other purpose, in error, then I would suggest you familiarise yourself with the Act itself, it's purpose, the rights it bestows on the individual and who is required to register. You can find lots of helpful info including the complete text of the Act at: www.dataprotection.gov.uk

I know that it has seriously helped me since I became a mortgage shortfall victim. I hope that it in some way helps you Leslie.

Regards,
