You would do well to read Ansel Adams' THE NEGATIVE to get the big picture, but for specifics on sensitometry you can't beat PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITOMETRY by Todd & Zakia (Morgan & Morgan, 1969). I think it is out of print, but you should be able to find it on the used market.(posted 8782 days ago)
