Can Sony VX 700 be used with dv imac?

I have a three year old Sony VX 700 and I was wondering if it would be easy to use with the new dv imac. I know the new imac has 2 firewire ports but I don't know if firewire would be compatible with my VX 700. Any suggestions on the easiest, least complicated way to import video into the imac with the VX 700 would be appreciated.
