Response to "Shoot in DV" is not a true statement

In my experience, PAL is irrelevant once you get to DV. Look at a DV frame from firewire, and you will see that your camera is not performing at full DV resolution (525 lines). The XL1 and VX1000 are around 480 lines. If the CCD and lens can't get to NTSC levels, what good is using the same exact equipment in PAL format?

Personally, I shoot in NTSC with a 1.75x Kowa Anamorphic adapter lens intended for 16mm. Digitally I letterbox the image and gain 75% more vertical resolution. Consumer TVs can't even display all of the details that this shooting system of
