Forgive me if this has been asked before - I'm new to the site and the DV game. I plan to shoot a feature with an XL-1 for editing on Avid and later film transfer. I have two questions:(posted 8982 days ago)1) My early research led me to believe that 16:9 with frame movie mode was the best option for later transfer to 16 or 35 milimeter film. But a recent post here suggested that can cause more problems than it solves. Any one have any experience or input on this?
2) Is there anyway to view my 16:9 footage in letterbox on my "regular" television? Does anyone sell a relatively inexpensive "black box" that can switch the signal? I know about the Sony DSR-30 but it's not price-realistic (several grand, right?)
