from carol lehman (strange_angel@angelfire.com)
looking for the author or the name of the poem which contains the following lyrics .."well i remember the pigeons...beyond your arbor door" "the sound...is a pleasant enough thing to a passer-by, but a maddening thing to a man with his head in his hands, like mine, like mine!" i first read it in lit class, probably around 1969, '70 .. along with edna st vincent millay, longfellow and such - if ya dont know the name but know a source where i could find out - i would be greatly appreciative!! email: strange_angel@angelfire.com. thanks!
