The following web site has an index of poets and biographical information and lots of their poems. Why not just go through the index and choose some that you have heard of? Another good approach would be to choose just a small number of poets and read up about their lives. Poems mean a lot more when you know something about the lives of the people who wrote them, and most biographies will mention poems that you can include.
