seeking concerned y2k citizens

I would like to meet people in upstate / western NY that are concerned about the potential problems with y2k. We find that there is essentially NO backup plan by any of the authorities, and some folks are discussing an intensional community or retreat center which would house families of those who want to help out, but who would hesitate to do so if their families were not safe.
